Curiosity and openness, combined with many years of experience and a realistic sense of what is feasible – these are the cornerstones of the innovation culture at Wikkelhouse. Our team is not only dedicated to developing new ideas but also to carefully nurturing existing concepts. This ensures that in the planning and realization of every single Wikkelhouse, new and creative solutions continue to emerge.

How the Swiss Wikkelhouse Came to Be
Our story begins with a discovery: Christoph Schoop and Pelin Karamustafaoglu, both from real estate and entrepreneurship backgrounds, happened upon the original Wikkelhouse by Oep Schilling and the Fiction Factory in the Netherlands during their travels. This encounter quickly sparked the vision of bringing the production and distribution of these unique small living spaces to Switzerland.
However, the proven concept from Amsterdam first had to be adapted to Swiss regulations and the specific requirements of the Alpine region. To drive this further development, the Swiss initiators joined forces with several specialists. The original team of experts included Hansueli Hug (Engineering & Development), Hermi Herger (Consulting), and Gianni Tarzia (Energy & Innovation).
Founding of Wikkelhouse Switzerland in Flüelen
At the company headquarters in the canton of Uri, a professional production hall as well as the first model house of a Swiss Wikkelhouse were built. Just like the original Wikkelhouse, the Swiss Wikkelhouse uses modular construction to flexibly adapt to a wide variety of purposes. It is an attractive home for people with a strong sense of space, modern concepts, and sustainability – since we manufacture it primarily from renewable materials, largely Swiss wood.
A Swiss Wikkelhouse is suitable for many different uses: for example, as a Stöckli for older generations, a holiday home, an atelier or mobile office, as well as for use in educational settings or as a glamping accommodation.
