Swiss Wikkelhouse:
Unique – Sustainable – Versatile
When the cozy feel of a wooden cabin meets modern architecture: Life in the Swiss Wikkelhouse is truly unique. In addition to its coziness, the sleek design language of the Wikkelhouse sets it apart from conventional mini homes or tiny houses. The surface of the marine plywood creates a warm and homely atmosphere while offering space for individuality. Thanks to its modular construction, the small house is highly flexible in both size and features, opening up a wide range of possible uses. Be it a home, holiday retreat, or a creative studio: the Wikkelhouse fascinates with its uniqueness.
The Swiss Wikkelhouse and its advantages
The Wikkelhouse sets a new standard for ecological building. Our wooden house, produced in our own production hall in the Canton of Uri, is made from sustainable materials – sourced locally wherever possible. The Wikkelhouse is three times more environmentally friendly than traditional buildings, comes with integrated photovoltaics, and we are on the path toward 100% biodegradability. In addition to a photovoltaic system, roof greening can also be installed, which provides natural habitat and an extra insulating effect against heat. With its resource-saving construction and living concept, the Swiss Wikkelhouse embodies the principles of the 2000-watt society.
The Swiss Wikkelhouse was developed by a Swiss team of experts – including timber constructors, engineers, specialist planners, carpenters, and more. Swiss standards are strictly adhered to, and the Wikkelhouse easily withstands our alpine winters. To ensure that our type of tiny house not only meets these high standards but is also ready to move into quickly, we rely on prefabricated element construction. Thanks to the pre-production of building modules, we can realize the Swiss Wikkelhouse in a short time. Depending on the building’s size, the final on-site assembly can be completed within just a few days.

Wikkelhouses for versatile lifestyles
The Wikkelhouse modular system allows for personalized design. By combining different segments, we can create a wide variety of layouts tailored to different requirements. Whether as a vacation home, “Stöckli”, mobile office, additional school space, creative studio, glamping accommodation, or permanent residence – the possibilities are endless.
With its sophisticated concept, the Wikkelhouse is suitable for year-round living as well as short-term use for leisure and relaxation. It is equally ideal as a creative workspace or for use in education and day care.

How it works
A Swiss Wikkelhouse requires no excavation or lengthy concrete work. Instead, it is both assembled from the prefabricated segments and sealed on-site. In preparation, foundation piles are set, and the necessary utility connections are installed so that the house can be hooked up to energy and water during assembly. All interior components are pre-installed and ready upon delivery. Thanks to this approach, the Wikkelhouse can be completed in no time.

Proven concept interpreted with Swiss standards
The idea of the Wikkelhouse originated in Amsterdam. To ensure it withstands the harsher winters in Switzerland and complies with Swiss norms, we developed a more robust structure, more efficient insulation, and building services in line with national standards.
The Swiss Wikkelhouse still preserves the original Amsterdam design but is now suitable for almost every inhabited region worldwide. At our headquarters in Flüelen, next to our production hall, we have a fully furnished show house where the Wikkelhouse’s features can be experienced firsthand.
